COACHELLA STYLE CHECKLIST

Coachella makes headlines for its killer performances, ridiculously delicious food, and mind blowing art installations. Photos from both weekends in April can provide you with style inspo for the entire summer.  There’s a reason that the style at Coachella has made a name for itself over the years. It’s a place to see and be seen. Everyone has their eyes on who’s wearing what, and every outfit is better than the next.

The location, just outside of Palm Springs, is smack in the middle of the California desert. The temperatures are hot hot hot. Seriously, the daytime temps have been known to skyrocket into the 100s, which means you’ll need to pack some lightweight dresses, crop tops, and airy shorts.

By nightfall, it gets chilly. Fast. You’ll be reaching for another layer to keep warm after the sun goes down. We recommend purchasing a locker to stow your sweaters during the day. Believe me when I tell you – a jacket or sweater is 100% necessary.

Our best advice to give is to go with close toed shoes. I get it. It’s hot, and you obviously want to show off those fresh pedicures in a an adorable pair of sandals. I’m not totally against doing this, but remember you’re going to be doing a lot of walking. Last year, my friends and I recorded 18 miles in just one day! Just make sure they’re comfortable, and you’ll be thankful.

Don’t feel like splurging on a locker? Accessorize with a chic backpack. These bags are perfect for storing all your belongings comfortably.

It’s always fun to show off a few flash tats at a festival. Our tip is to use them in moderation. Same goes for body paint or hennas. Bring along your artsy friend to paint on a few designs in the morning, but remember you’ll be sweating. Be careful not to use paint that’s going to rub off onto your clothing or accessories in the heat.

Rocking headwear at Coachella is pretty much the norm. Hats are always helpful to block the sun from scorching your scalp. We’re also loving the flower crown trend right now. Just don’t go overboard. No one likes an Indian headdress blocking their view during performances. Don’t be that guy.

Complete your look with bohemian accessories. Stack bracelets, layer necklaces, and load up on rings. The more the merrier, ladies.

P.S. Don’t forget your sunnies!
