If you’re anything like me, you need to create an extensive list of what to pack for every vacay. I swear I’m the queen of excel spreadsheets when it comes to detailed lists of outfits, accessories, shoes and more. Luckily, I’ve become quite the packing professional, especially when it comes to traveling to one of my favorite destinations, Miami. Because of the massive array of things to do in this fun and eccentric city, I think it’s easiest to break down outfits by four everyday occasions.
POOLSIDE

The pool scene in Miami is a fashionable one. Every day of the week, there’s either a pool party to attend or a beach to relax on – the decision is yours. My outfit of choice is perfect for either. I love pairing a simple bikini top with fun printed bottoms, especially in this city which is often known for pushing the limits when it comes to style. A light coverup or caftan will work well paired with simple gold jewelry and a hat to finish the look. A larger tote bag is essential for carrying sunscreen, a good book, and some cash for a cocktail or two. And, how cute is this towel from The Beach People? This probably won’t fit in your suitcase, but I couldn’t resist! Lastly, sandals over heels. Many of the women in Miami sport their pumps or wedges to the pool, but I’ll pass. I like the option of wearing sandals for a walk along the hot sand.

When sightseeing, I recommend wearing a neutral palette that won’t clash against backdrops like the Art Deco buildings, old fashioned cars, or the murals in the Wynwood district. A simple yet chic outfit like this is also beneficial when trying on clothes while shopping. I tend to lose track of time when I’m in the mood to buy a thing or two, so a watch is a necessity. I also love the Fujifilm Instax cameras to print out fun little Polaroid memories throughout the day.

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day cocktails than with this adorable red suede playsuit from Mango? The flirty lace-up top is ideal for date night dinners or cocktails with the girls. The Maison Margiela scent is a well-kept secret that I’m hesitant to share with you, but it’s sexy and beachy just like Miami. With statement earrings and understated accessories and heels, you’ll complete the eye-catching look with ease.

Most of the girls in Miami clubs are dressed in teeny tiny dresses and six inch heels. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the most flattering look for many of these women. The trick to finding a great night out dress is finding a silhouette that works for your figure. Bodycon dresses are not for everyone.
