HOTEL PICKS: PALM SPRINGS

Interested in a glam getaway or need a place to crash in style after long festival days in Indio? Look no further than the beautiful Palm Springs. Just a few hours outside of Los Angeles lies California’s desert hot spot. There are so many trendy hotels, it’s hard to decide on the perfect location. Here are just a few of our favorites to help you narrow down the list…

THE PARKER PALM SPRINGS
4200 East Palm Canyon Drive • Palm Springs, CA 92264

The Parker will have you feeling as if you traveled back in time to the 1960s in the most glamorous way possible. This luxury hotel is equipped with 144 stylish rooms and villas, four indoor and outdoor pools, two five star restaurants, a bar, and a spa facility otherwise known as the Palm Springs Yacht Club. With interior design by none other than Jonathan Adler, it’s not difficult to fall head over heels for every inch of decor throughout the property. We’re obsessed with the eclectic mix of bohemian textiles and contemporary furniture fit for a modern day hippie. Even the bellman are clothed in the most charming bright pink suits. The Parker also brings back refreshing past-times like tennis, croquet, and petanque, so you can sport in style. It is the place to see and be seen – don’t be left out.

THE SAGUARO
1800 East Palm Canyon Drive • Palm Springs, CA 92264

The rainbow-colored Saguaro is easily Palm Springs most lively hotel known for its quirky decor and bright pops of color everywhere you look. Just exploring this vibrant property will leave a smile on your face. All of the 245 brilliantly hued guestrooms feature balconies that overlook the hotel’s hip pool scene, cheerful gardens, or the mountainous desert in the surrounding area. The hotel has recently parted ways with Iron Chef Jose Garces to transform the old restaurant space into a fresh concept serving everything from snacks and salads to tacos and seafood. The cocktails, made with syrups and juices carefully concocted in house, are refreshing and pretty damn impressive. Seriously, don’t miss the food and drinks here – you can even grab a few tacos or nachos while partying poolside. If unwinding is more your thing, take a leisurely spin around Palm Springs on a desert cruiser bike, join the daily yoga class, or simmer down at the tranquil spa. The Saguaro has the just the right juxtaposition of relaxation and excitement – perfect for a much needed getaway.

ACE HOTEL & SWIM CLUB
701 East Palm Canyon Drive • Palm Springs, CA 92264

This hipster hotel chain will always make the top of our list no matter the city. Of course, the Ace Hotel & Swim Club is downright cool in every sense. These people just think of everything that others don’t – weekly bingo like you’ve never seen before, a dog park (!!!), a vintage photo booth, and communal fireplaces. Okay, there are normal things too – 176 guest rooms, two outdoor pools, and a spa. The decor is eclectic, bohemian and chic. Some rooms feature fireplaces. Others feature garden patios. There’s always something fun going on here, too. Think live music, crafting, and karaoke. Grab dinner King’s Highway, an old Denny’s transformed into a hip and retro diner, or sip on a craft beer or artisanal cocktail at The Amigo Room. All in all, you can’t go wrong at the Ace.

COLONY PALMS HOTEL
572 North Indian Canyon Drive • Palm Springs, CA 92262

This 1930s Spanish-style hotel was recently renovated into a glamorous boutique hotel. Exotic influences are found throughout the property, and we absolutely adore the intricately hand-painted tiles, bohemian pillows, and custom Suzani headboards. With only 56 guest rooms and suites in total, the staff is quick to anticipate your every need. Some rooms have fireplaces and four claw bathtubs that’ll have you wishing you could move right in. Be sure to spend some time relaxing at the Moroccan inspired spa when you’re not busy tasting the delectable Mediterranean fare at the hotel’s Purple Palm Restaurant, a previous clubhouse for members of the infamous Prohibition-era mob. Don’t forget to reserve chocolate covered strawberries and champagne before your arrival – the Colony Palms Hotel will look forward to spoiling you with any indulgence you please.
